"An announcement to anyone coming to the show: laugh, have fun, and the more audience interaction the better," Lindsay Butterfield, the assistant director for "The Play That Goes Wrong," said. "Audience participation is essential to this production, and it makes it all that much more enjoyable."
The production, presented by the Menomonie Theater Guild (MTG), features a farcical tale of mayhem and hilarity; the Tony Award-winning comedy follows the Cornley Drama Society in their attempts to stage a timeless murder mystery.
Collapsing sets, missed cues, and nonstop slapstick entertainment unfolded at the opening night for "The Play That Goes Wrong" at the Mabel Tainter Center for the Arts (205 Main St. E., Menomonie).
Its cast and crew – composed of eight leading actors and a father-daughter duo in the director seats – has developed an unparalleled chemistry between one another for an unforgettable run of shows, Butterfield said.
“The Play That Goes Wrong,” presented by the Menomonie Theater Guild, will run through March 1 at the Mabel Tainter Center for the Arts (205 Main St. E., Menomonie).
