Did you hear it? That truly one-of-a-kind rhythm produced by ordinary objects – the kitchen broom or even the garbage cans set out for collection?

Well, Chippewa Vallians on Feb. 11 had the chance to savor a performance by “STOMP,” a globally-recognized (and percussive) ensemble who utilizes these very objects – and their own bodies – as instruments to share a theatrical display of acrobatics, storytelling and more.

Held in the RCU Theatre at the Pablo Center (128 Graham Ave., Eau Claire), the one-night showcase displayed a loud, fresh and fun performance for attendees of all ages. The set design – which mirrored a grungy junk yard aesthetic – too served as a massive instrument throughout the night.
