Clear Water Comedy usually invites folks to The Plus (208 S. Barstow St., Eau Claire)  for live comedy events featuring local, regional and even national acts, but this past week, the local comics group brought a different kind of act to downtown Eau Claire: an eating contest. 

On Thursday, Dec. 4, Clear Water Comedy hosted its inaugural eating contest with comedians facing off against local competitors across several food and drink categories. The grand prize? BOGO free drinks at The Plus for all of 2026. 

When we chatted with Clear Water Comedy's Cullen Ryan ahead of the event, he was simply hoping to have a good time. By the looks of these photos, it seems that mission was achieved.
