Another year of Halloween tricks-and-treats has come and gone, but the lovers of all things spooky, autumnal — ghastly and gruesome — in the Chippewa Valley have once again taken part in the annual "Spooktacular Displays" contest.

Whatever the style or theme, over 60-plus residents from around the area dressed up their lawns and home exteriors this year, with a myriad of personalized themes and thrilling haunts for passersby to admire. Of course — adding to the neighborly fun — community members voted on the decorated homes across several categories: Seriously Scary, Creepy Creative, Judge’s Choice and People's Choice (first and second place). This year’s Scary Winner (918 Bluff View Ct, Chippewa Falls) transformed their home into a fright-inducing clown circus.
