The Wisconsin Law Enforcement Canine Handler Association (WLECHA) held its annual conference
in Eau Claire from Sunday, Oct. 5, through Wednesday, Oct. 8. With a mission to assist police canine teams from all over the state of Wisconsin, WLECHA offers guided training sessions to handlers and their canine companions, "building skills needed to keep Wisconsin a safer place to live, work, and visit."
This year, it was projected there would be 150-175 K9 teams from around the region in attendance. Training events throughout the
2025 schedule included "real world" deployments at locations throughout the city of Eau Claire; two competitive stations were offered for handlers, a drug detection station and a building search.
