Following several days of celebratory activities, homecoming weekend for UW-Eau Claire kicked off on Saturday, Oct. 12, at 10am with the Homecoming Parade. Traveling down Lake Street and First Avenue in downtown Eau Claire, this year’s homecoming theme – “Nothing Cheddar Than Eau Claire” – was reflected in the dozens of participating floats by campus and community organizations. The parade, which included the Blugold Marching Band and the UWEC Dance Team, was followed by tailgating at Carson Park. Later, the UWEC football team played UW-Stevens Point, and the Blugolds absolutely dominated: The final score was 41-0.
