Following several days of celebratory activities, homecoming weekend for UWEC kicked off on Saturday, Oct. 12, at 10am with the Homecoming Parade. Traveling down Lake Street and First Avenue in downtown Eau Claire, this year's homecoming theme – "Nothing Cheddar Than Eau Claire" – was embraced by the dozens of participating floats by campus and community organizations. The parade, which included the Blugold Marching Band and UWEC Dance Team, was followed by tailgating at Carson Park. UWEC played UW-Stevens Point, the Blugolds absolutely dominating: the final score was 41-0.
