Eau Claire’s very first tattoo convention, the Sawdust City Tattoo Invitational, was held from April 19-21 on the upper floor of The Brewing Projekt. It welcomed more than a dozen tattoo artists from around the country and was hosted by Shannon Nordin, owner of Old North Tattoo (209 N. Barstow St., Eau Claire). Folks were able to watch highly-skilled tattoo artists give tattoos live, purchase art and merchandise, or even get their own ink. From Horisora, a Japanese Tebori tattoo artist, to Nordin himself, as well as artists from Minneapolis, Madison, San Diego, and beyond, the first-time convention was a hit for artists and guests alike.
