If you haven't seen (or heard) for yourself yet, the airspace above Eau Claire has been full of exotic aircraft this week, thanks to the long-awaited return of the Chippewa Valley Air Show.
The air show is open to the public on Saturday and Sunday, June 4-5, with gates at the Chippewa Valley Regional Airport opening at 8:30am and the show running from approximately noon to 4:15pm both days. On Friday, Volume One photo contributor Mark Oliver had a chance to preview some of the air show's attractions up close and personal, including the U.S. Navy's legendary Blue Angels, a World War II-era C-47 nicknamed "Placid Lassie," a pair of tiltrotor Ospreys, and much more.
