On Friday, March 22 Eau Claire's own performance group the Torch Sisters staged their first original show, La Caverne, in Pablo Center at the Confluence's Jamf Theater. The show was a blend of aerial artistry, flow arts, and burlesque paying homage to turn-of-the-century Eau Claire resident Maud Phillips, aka the poet Violet Leigh – an outspoken rebel who spent time in and out of mental institutions and who, for a brief time, famously lived in a cave along the Eau Claire River.
