Yes, 2020 has been a big ol’ bummer of a year. But that’s even more reason to take some time to highlight the people, places, and things that make the Chippewa Valley great – including those who have demonstrated creativity, determination, compassion, and good humor in the face of the pandemic.

That’s why this year’s edition of the annual Volume One’s Best of the Chippewa Valley Reader Poll includes a brand-new category, “Masking and Sanitizing,” which is devoted to dealing with all that 2020 has thrown at us.

Which eateries offered the best carry-out dining? Which retailers stepped up the most to add curbside pick-up? Which local businesses innovated with e-commerce? Which people and organizations are the real COVID MVPs? And, yes, what has been the biggest bummer of 2020?
