‘Helping Hands For Our Children in the Chippewa Valley’ Provides Basic Needs to Families During Pandemic
nonprofit group helps families meet essential needs
Helping Hands for Our Children in the Chippewa Valley (HHFOC), a local nonprofit organization, has been working hard to provide the basic needs of children and their families during Wisconsin’s “Safer at Home” order. The closure of businesses during this difficult time is causing harm to families that are already economically disadvantaged. Very few working-class families have the savings to get through an interruption in their paychecks. The mission of HHFOC is to ensure that the children of these families do not suffer and have what they need to thrive during this time of uncertainty.
HHFOC is currently providing clothing in sizes 0-3X, blankets for children, and diapers on an emergency basis for as long as inventory allows. Families needing assistance can contact HHFOC at (608) 799-0178, or by email at HelpingHandsForOurChildren@gmail.com. They can also join a 6,000+ member Facebook group to post their needs and sign up for distributions.
To help provide for our families in need, HHFOC is currently running a Diaper Drive using an Amazon.com Wish List, allowing donors to supply one the most essential needs from the safety of their own homes. You can see the wish list here.
