Once Upon a Prom is here for the ninth year, offering free prom dresses, alterations, shoes, purses, and jewelry to young women in the Chippewa Valley to prepare for proms, senior balls, and other fancy and formal occasions.

Once Upon a Prom was founded by a group of women who understand that prom can be a meaningful, even pivotal event in a young woman’s life, and that the trappings of it go a long way toward making that experience a positive one. The shop will open April 4 and 5 in Oakwood Mall (4800 Golf Road, Eau Claire), across from the Old Navy store.

Organizers will post the exact hours online at onceuponaprom.com in the coming weeks. These services promote community service by asking that participants commit to six hours of volunteerism.
