The staff at Irvine Park needs some help setting up the Christmas Village display this year. Slated to light up the park at 5pm on Thanksgiving Day, there is still a lot of work that needs to be accomplished before the opening ceremonies can commence. Volunteers, ages 16 years or older, are needed to help set up the displays every Tuesday-Thursday from 9:45am-3pm starting Nov. 1 and ending Nov. 23. The jobs will include stringing lights, putting up displays, and connecting cords to lights. After the holidays, the Christmas Village will also need to be disassembled. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays in the months of January and February, volunteers are needed to take down and repair the lights, displays, and power cords as well as help with the inventory and storing of lights and cords. If you have a hankering for stringing lights and an eye for good caroler placement, then consider emailing Dick Herbert at dherbert@chippewafalls-wi.gov to sign up.
