To the delight of kids in the Eau Claire community, the new playground at Jeffers Road Park on Eau Claire’s northwest side is officially open. The creation, which is part of the Jeffers Road Park Project, was made possible by two $60,000 grants from the Otto Bremer Foundation and GameTime. More than two dozen volunteers from various businesses and city staff members wielding drills and socket wrenches used sheer manpower to assemble the playground. The project leaders are hoping to continue to make additions to the park by including scoreboards, bleachers, and batting cages to the ball fields that have also been developed. Additional funds are still needed to make those projects come to life.
