Back in the good ol' days(whenever those actually were) summer and baseball were inseparable, especially in all-American places like the Chippewa Valley. Around here, we’re still incredibly proud that a skinny kid from Alabama named Hank Aaron played one summer for the Eau Claire Bears in ’52. And while our children’s attention is now splintered among thousands of electronic amusements that didn’t exist back in the ’50s, there’s still something special about making your way to the old ball game for an evening of America’s pastime.
