How About Indoor Snow Painting?

Stephanie Sirek |

When it’s too cold to go outside and play in the snow, don’t let that ruin the fun. Bring a bit of the outdoors, indoors with this fun activity.

What You Need

• A large container full of snow
• Food Coloring
• Small containers
• Eye Droppers, measuring spoons, paint brushes
• Towels

Instructions

STEP 1: Fill up small containers with cold water and one drop of food coloring. I like to do 4 or 5 different colors. When you do any activity with food coloring there is always the potential of staining fingers or clothes so please use caution.

STEP 2: Lay down towels where you plan to do the activity. We do the table but the floor would work great for little kids.

STEP 3: Go outside and fill up your container with snow. I like to do one container per child.

STEP 4: Let the kids use the brushes, spoons, and droppers to color the snow.

ALSO! For added fun include toy trucks as pretend snow plows. Make a mini snowman or make footprint tracks with plastic animals. This is a great way of enjoying the snow while staying toasty warm.
