New J.E. Sunde Video: "Hickory Point in the Fall"

Eric Christenson |

JE Sunde’s 2014 album Shapes That Kiss The Lips Of God was, front to back, a great solo record. It pleasantly calls back old songs from his disbanded band, local favorite The Daredevil Christopher Wright, while pushing further into sharp folk pop with a slew of catchy, intricate, and heartbreaking songs.

Now Sunde has dropped a video for “Hickory Point In The Fall,” a driving pop gem from that album. It’s fitting, then, that the video was filmed at Hickory Point Lane in Sunde’s hometown of Amery, Wis. with leaves all over the place. Directed by Zach Johnston from PHOX, the video finds Sunde in a some quirky Wes Anderson-style situations (with the cinematography to boot) – a perfect visual for the stellar track.

The video premiered on Paste's site this week ...
