It’s that time again! Time to visit the beach, camp, and travel. With all of the fun summer activities we have going from day to day, it doesn’t take long for things to get expensive. Try some of these money-saving tips to keep your pocketbook from wanting to bury its head in the sand this summer:
1. Picnic
For a fraction of the cost of eating out, you can pack a picnic lunch for your family outings. Not only is this a less expensive alternative, but it is typically healthier as well.
2. Take It to the Beach
Going to a lake or beach can be a less costly alternative to a public pool or athletic facility where you are typically charged per person.
3. Backyard Camping
Instead of camping at a park where you are charged by the night, set up the tent, pack up the s’mores, and light the fire right in your own back yard.
4. Attend Your Local Festival
Many towns have annual summer festivals which provide free fun such as petting zoos and parades.
5. Get Growing
Planting a garden is a fun and inexpensive way to enjoy fresh produce right at your fingertips.
