Sawdust City, USA
For over 50 years, Eau Claire was known for having the most prolific sawmills in all of Wisconsin. Logs. It's how we rolled. The lumber industry has played a huge role in shaping our great city and there's still evidence of its effects to be spotted all over town. This map (created by Brian Wagner of Historic Maps LLC) showcases the nine mills, three dams, flume, canal, and four related businesses that made Eau Claire into the thriving city it became. Show tribute to our lumber loving roots with this print from The Local Store in 8.5 x11, 16 x 20, or 20 x 24.
