The Dark Side of the Snow

They even drew themselves.
They even drew themselves.

Proving once and for all that snow sculpting doesn’t have to be all about wholesome family fun, and can also be about dark lords of magic and technology, award-winning local snow sculptors The Starvin’ Carvists have unveiled to us the conceptual sketch for the masterpiece they aim to create at this Thursday’s Winter After Hours. Behold: Snow Vader (with Jedi Surprise). That’s our name, not theirs.*

Weather permitting, the team (led by local artists Jason Anhorn and Steve Bateman) will get going on this bad boy Thursday afternoon (Jan. 10) in Boyd Park, and by the time Winter After Hours kicks off at 6pm, it should be in full (lightsaber) swing. The artists encourage you to dress up with a Star Wars theme. (Battle of Hoth, anyone?)

And by the way, skate rentals will be back on site, 3 bucks a pop. Tie up your tauntauns behind the warming house.
