In case you haven't seen this yet – Minnesota Public Radio's much loved 89.3 The Current has a weekly show called The Local Show (with David Campbell), and  on Sunday, September 23 it's a-gonna feature music exclusively from the Chippewa Valley.

Pretty awesome, yes? Yes. But also – in the first half of the show, Justin Vernon (remember him?) will be playing some of his his favorite local tunes, and no doubt chatting about them to boot. And also-also, in the second hour, Daredevil Christopher Wright will be performing in the studio. So there.

Local  musicians – would you like to have your tunes featured on the show? Well, lucky for you, they are accepting submissions through Sept. 18. Details:

When you think of The Local Show, you obviously are inclined to think about the music of Minnesota. But a few months back, the crew got an idea that we felt was worth exploring. Just how far does the term "local" extend? Perhaps we can travel a little further on I-94 past the state border to the town of Eau Claire, Wisconsin. It's a city that has spawned a multitude of musicians who have worked or currently work in the state of 10,000 lakes, as well as a place that has exported its fair share of acts to other parts of the United States.
