New Davies Center 'Tis Open

The new W.R. Davies Student Center at UW- Eau Claire had a soft opening on Monday morning. The soft opening means that some of the services are still limited, more furniture will be brought in, and there is still some construction going on. Rest assured, the building is as solid as a rock.

Student-led tours will be held through August 3. No appointment is necessary to join in on the tours, but closed-toe shoes are encouraged.

And if you can’t make it to a tour this week, the building will be open between 7am and 5pm for the rest of the summer. The Service Center, University Bookstore and University Centers offices are all open to visitors.

There is still work to be done on the building but Charles Farrell, director of University Centers said, “Our plan is to be up and fully ready to go by residence hall move-in day on August 30."

The official grand opening is planned for late September during homecoming weekend with a ribbon-cutting.
