On June 9, the team (along with its coaches, family, and friends) traveled to Ireland so they could play American football against the University of Limerick Vikings on June 10. And they pretty much plowed through the U of L like a  leprechaun through a bowl of Lucky Charms, winning 58-2. You can read the whole play-by play right here.

The game was for the Global Ireland Football Tournament 2012 – part of the Global Football program, an organization which seems to be built on the premise that Europeans actually like American football. This flies directly in the face of everything movies and television have ever taught me about the international sports community.

That said, congrats to the Blugolds. They will be sightseeing in Ireland until June 16.
