If beer is to be wasted it might as well be wasted for a casue

The Eau Claire Fire House bar  is simultaneously showing its support for local breweries and its disdain for the MillerCoors coorporation's support of Wisconsin Motion 414 by hosting the Dump for the Independents event this Thursday.

For those of you unaware of Motion 414 and the effect it will have on independent breweries, Volume One's own Alyssa Schulte wrote a comprehensive article on the issue.

On Thursday (July 7), patrons of The Fire House are encouraged to purchase a MillerCoors product and then dump it right down the drain. After said dumping. they are then presented with a select independent craft beer for showing their support. The Fire House will be dumping out the entirety of their MillerCoors stock and then no longer purchasing from the brewer in retaliation to MillerCoors’ support of the motion.

Representatives from local breweries such as Lucette Brewing Company out of Menomonie will be present at the event.

For those of you who have an issue with MillerCoors support of Motion 414, or if you just want to enjoy some good craft beer and like pouring things down drains, Dump for the Independents this Thursday is perfect for you.
