As you may have gathered, international music juggernaut Bon Iver will be releasing its much-awaited sophomore album Bon Iver, Bon Iver (yep, twice) on Tuesday, June 21. Lest you forget, besides frontman and Chippewa Valley native Justin Vernon, the new and improved 9-member Bon Iver band is filled with a good dose of local talent.

To celebrate, The Local Store at the Volume One World Headquarters (17 S. Barstow Street, EC) will be hosting an all-day listening party where you can hear and buy the new album (on CD or vinyl) – and we'll have lots of exclusive giveaways. The store will be open from 9am to 6pm, and we’ll have the new music on repeat all day long.

And you can sample more than music. Adding to the festive festivities will be festive refreshments: a limited supply of special (and especially delicious) Bon Iver Bars and Falsetto Fig Newtons will be on hand for your tasting pleasure.

Bon Iver’s 12” Calgary EP will be sold early to Eau Clairians. The street date for release isn’t until July 5. We’ll have only 10 copies available this week for $13. (The flip side of this EP has the Bonnie Raitt/Donny Hathaway medley performed on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.)
