Framed but unframed,

Sleeping but sleepless,

Needing but needless,

I wake in the sun,

I cannot run,

Moving is hard,

I am as stiff as a card,

Lying but standing,

Smoothing but sanding,

 Alive but dead,

Silent is read,

Listening is impossible,

Nothing I can do,

I hear a bird’s soft coo,

They experimented on me,

Now I will never be,

Who I was before,

This is a new life,
