Forgiveness

Forgiveness is what I’ve studied for centuries on end
Practiced for this one test that counts
The test’s name is not spoken
I’ve practiced getting over heartbreak
Healing wounds fast
Taking the path less traveled but leads to greatness
This feeling can build you up
It can tear you apart, yet never slow down
Asking the question
If love was a plane with 5 out of 7 chances of going down
Would I get on?
Knowing I’m prepared
Knowing I’m strong
Those 4 words hit my ears
They were like daggers to my heart
I wish when I messed up before
I could have gotten another chance
Leave without the horrifying
Pain
Scars and memories
As I let the hope, adoration, and you into my heart to heal the wounds
Finally back to my comfort zone
But still I have the memories left in my mind
Eating at my joy till I’m left
Empty
Depressed
Shunned
Unforgiving again
