As the glowing blue sky
Changes and shifts
You know its coming

Purples
Oranges
Reds
As day breaks

Warms

Time flies by
In a blink of an eye
And darkness
Fills the air
Drowns out the easy afternoon
As a snake
Coils around its prey
Squeezing
Until it’s lifeless

The darkness
Is so deep, and so dark
You can almost feel it
Smell it
Taste it
It coils around you
Like the light of the once glowing sky

You see the twinkling stars
Winking at you
Guiding you
And making you smile ear to ear

They make you feel
Like a little kid at Christmas time
Excitement
Amazement
Joy
Your eyes now droop
Like an old hound dog
They close

Like you do every other night from routine
