Moving

Fogged up windows
Impossible to see through
Having this feeling once again
For the second time this year
Maybe this time it might be bigger
Two-story
Maybe
Just like the last one
Maybe
But it never was a good feeling
Always the same old thing
Maybe
It will have a bedroom big enough
Maybe
We won’t move again

Thoughts screaming out
Getting their opinions in
Never realistic ones
Mostly the same as last time
Like a broken record
Never changing
Always repeating
Never stopping

Pulling in to the driveway
This new house is a beacon
Sending out signals
Catching the attention of moving families
Never thinking of the loss
The pain

Of course
One-story
Some things never change
Like the colors of every house
A bland color on the outside
White on the inside
Always holding the promising thoughts of being painted
But never do
So this is just
Another move
