As if football fans around town weren’t whooping loudly enough as it were, a local teenager and North High School Sophomore won the national NFL Punt, Pass & Kick contest and was presented his award at halftime during last Saturday night’s divisional championship game in which THE PACK DOMINATED. Dominic Berlin, from Eau Claire, won the 14-15 age group. Berlin told WQOW News 18 he has been competing in the competition since he was 8-years-old.  He said the competition has been a family tradition, with his dad and older brother both taking part in past years.

According to the PUNT, PASS & KICK website, each participant is allowed one punt, one pass and one placekick as part of his or her competition. Scores are based on both distance and accuracy. 

Oddly, Berlin doesn’t even play football, opting instead for North HS’s baseball program. Also, as WQOW.com points out, Chloe Wanick from Cameron competed in the 12-13 year-old group, so – awesome!
