It begins! The very first public information meeting for the Barstow Street redesign project in downtown Eau Claire is next week on Wednesday. This is a huge project that will totally rip apart the spine of downtown Eau Claire. It's also an amazing opportunity to do some very cool stuff to a very important street. Go to the meeting!

The Barstow Street redesign project is about to begin! The City of Eau CLaire is embarking on a project involving downtown traffic circulation analysis, transportation planning, and preparation of conceptional designs for the reconstruction of S. Barstow Street, from Lake Street to the Eau Claire Rive, and Eau Claire Street, from Graham Avenue to Dewey Street. The project also includes development of preliminary plans for public improvements to the east bank of the Chippewa River, from Lake Street to the Haymarket Parking Lot.

The goal is to develop a plan for the reconstruction of streets and the riverbank that provides for use by all modes of transportation, creates incentives for development, and enhances the quality of life for businesses, organizations, and individuals who work, live, and visit the historic riverfront district if Downtown Eau Claire.

The project is a joint venture between local firm Ayres Associates and the City of Eau Claire.
