• People have been writing about Milwaukee 2.0 for a long time now, but only recently has the city that’s perhaps known best for people that didn’t exist — Laverne, Shirley, The Fonz — ambled out of the 1980s and into the 21st century. Don’t get us wrong, there’s always been plenty to like about it. For instance, it’s got one of the most handsome downtowns in the country (German craftsmanship at its finest), beautiful, big, affordable homes, a lovely lakefront and a lot of beer, some of it quite drinkable. Calling Milwaukee an “out-of-the-ordinary city” to visit, they specifically cite the Milwaukee Art Museum, the Milwaukee Public Market, the new Harley-Davidson Museum (really?) as places you simply must visit whilst in town. They also plug Lake Park Bistro for food and the city’s Third Ward for ... living. Their Third Ward is pretty much like ours, BTW.
