Thursday night was made for (art) lovers

Mike Paulus |

As if Thursday evening’s Hastings Way Public Workshop (5pm) wasn’t providing enough excitement, there are three separate art events on the very same night. We’ve only seen this happen a few times before, and we hope Eau Claire’s infrastructure can handle the load ...

Premiere of the Art Cartel | The Art Cartel is a new artist collective, including Brian Duerkop, Steve Bateman, Eric Lee, Josh Dolan-Neill, Corey Jevne and Todd Pfinning. This downtown art event features the works of these six artists including sculptures, photography, paintings and more. (Thur. 5-10pm; the alley that would be 205 Graham Ave., downtown Eau Claire; free)

Reception: Mari Jackson | Mari Jackson is a self taught visionary artist who is always inspired by her observations in nature, from forest to prairie and lakeshore to gardens. Most of her paintings are landscapes of western Wisconsin where she has lived most of her life. Mari feels Spirit working through her when creating and hopes to share the light of peace and beauty through her works. (Thur. 6-8pm; Stone Tree, 204 Water St., Eau Claire; free)

Reception: Art Faculty Show | Featuring artwork by the faculty of the Department of Art & Design, UW-Eau Claire. (Thur. 7:30-9pm; Foster Gallery, Haas Fine Arts Center, UW-Eau Claire; free)
