This weekend, Eau Claire gets famous with three stagings of FAME. First the hit motion picture, then the long-running TV series, and now ECCT ends its 21st season with the new stage adaptation. Set during the last years of NYC's High School for the Performing Arts, Fame is the bittersweet but ultimately inspiring story of a diverse group of students as they commit to four years of grueling artistic and academic work. ON A STICK | Eau Claire County Fair: This youth and family-focused event places emphasis on education, recognition and family involvement. The county fair is non-commercial and has no midway or carnival. In addition to a wide variety of animal shows and hundreds of non-animal exhibits, the fair features a style revue, talent show, livestock auction, pie baking contest, small animal fun show, charcoal chicken dinner, polka band, antique appraisal, award ceremony, and dance. INDIE | Icarus Himself + Landino Harryman: The first of two shows tonight by Madison's Icarus Himself. Featuring former members of Eau Claire's Jimmy's Comet and Madison's National Beekeeper's Society. First, an all ages set at Infinitea at 7pm, followed by a late 21+ show at The Mousetrap on Barstow. COUNTRY | Anna Johnson and Her Band: Singer/songwriter Anna Johnson moved from Chippewa Falls has moved to Nashville, TN where she recorded her first album. She sings songs about life, love and friendship with her simple, clean acoustic guitar accompaniment. (Heyde Center for the Arts, Chippewa Falls; Sat. 7:30pm; adults $8, seniors $7, youth $3)
