This Weekend: Vrooooooshhh!

People, this much is true: there ain’t no air show like the Chippewa Valley Air Show. This weekend, the U.S. NAVY BLUE ANGELS ALL CAPS flight demonstration team will be above town to amaze and entertain us along with a long list of other military acts, parachuters, trick aerialists, and ground displays. FISH: Wisconsin's Free Fishing Weekend | Every year, the first consecutive Saturday and Sunday in June is designated as Free Fishing Weekend throughout the state. All the waters are open, including state waters of the Great Lakes and rivers bordering Wisconsin. Residents and nonresidents of all ages can fish without a fishing license (or trout or salmon stamps) over these two days. However, all other fishing regulations apply. CHICKEN: 52nd Annual Eleva Broiler Festival | 52nd annual fest with live music and famous charcoal chicken and refreshments all three days. Other activities include a hot rod burn out, volleyball tournament, kiddie parade, old timer's parade and tractor pull, and a grand parade on Sunday afternoon. New Museum will be open all days of event, as well as an ice cream social on Sunday. (Downtown Eleva; Sat. & Sun., 9am-10pm; free)
WENCHES: Chippewa Valley Renaissance Faire | Join the Chippewa Valley Renaissance Faire for its opening weekend, and live out your fantasy of being the knight in shining armor, a damsel in distress, a dashing pirate, a naughty wench, or a romancing bard. Part craft fair, part historical reenactment, part performance art, take yourself back 400 years and enjoy the sounds, sights and activities of the renaissance.
