• Currently, the bus system has several designated stops but also works on a flag-stop system.  That means anyone who wants to ride the bus can just flag it down as long as they're on the route.  This summer, the city will add 53 more stops.  The transit manager says this should make it easier for new riders to understand the bus system and help save riding time.
• "With this in place we should have more distinct time points, we're not going to be stopping every block, because potentially the way the system is now you could stop every block and that could really put you behind," says Mike Branco, City of Eau Claire Transit Manager.

So, this seems to be saying that adding more stops will help the buses stay on schedule? Not sure how that shakes out, but ‘ll buy it. The plan was approved a few years back, but funding for the new bus stop signage just came into being. The transit commission is meeting on Wednesday if you’d like to add your 2 cents about where the busses should be stopping.

I’d like to be a wintertime bus rider, but I’ve been too lazy to figure out the schedule. I should stop being so lazy.
