Check out this last-minute yet awesome-sounding event – the Ski Sprites are hosting a first annual “Ski Sprite Sand Castle Contest” down at Lake Altoona on Labor Day (Monday, Sept. 7). It’s just a small-ish event this year so they can see how it all shakes out, and what they can change/do in the future.

They’ll start the castle-building and live music at noon, and serve corn on the cob, hot dogs, and other concessions all day long. The Ski Sprites will be ski-spriting at 2pm and the sandcastle contest judging will take place at intermission. They’ll announce a winner right before some prize raffle drawings at the end of the show.

Details are a bit scant but a sandcastle contest is a great idea. So get down there and win!
