Research: 1918 flu pandemic survivors resist swine flu

Recent findings from a flu researcher at the University of Wisconsin seem to show that many survivors of the 1918 flu pandemic are immune to swine flu. That’s a crazy little fun fact. Since we’re not scientists, doctors, or historians – and we know almost nothing about diseases, pandemics, and/or human biology – we’ll just go ahead and say that aliens, government cover-ups, and time travel are somehow involved with the creation and spread of swine flu. • In addition, blood tests show that many survivors of the 1918 flu pandemic seem to have immunity to the current swine flu, but not to the seasonal flu that hits every year.

So, as you can plainly see, the government hired time-traveling aliens to spread a version of swine flu in the early 1900’s for some secret reason that is yet to be understood – it’s obvious. On a less alien-related note, the research also showed that swine flu multiplies in the respiratory system more severely than in regular flu strains. Rather ominously, the AP article concludes by saying that all these findings make researchers “more concerned” about swine flu than before.
