Obama Writes Dude in Wausau,
Still Won’t Answer My Calls

Yeah, so a guy in Wausau wrote a letter to Barack Obama (president of the United States) and Obama wrote back. From Wausau Daily Herald

  • Mike Stouffer, a weekend cook and dishwasher, has had some hard hits in life -- abusive childhood, prison time, alcoholism, bad life choices. But a two-page letter he wrote and the simple response he got back has uplifted and motivated him.
  • "Thanks for the inspiring letter! It means a lot," reads the brief note from President Barack Obama that Stouffer now cherishes like a family heirloom.
  • "I am humbled by the whole experience. I never thought my writings meant anything. I pick away on a keyboard with two fingers," said the 48-year-old motorcyclist and tattoo artist nicknamed Scooter. "If I can inspire the president, I can keep trying to inspire these teens and putting their feet in the right direction."

This pisses me off because I’ve been trying to call Barack Obama for well over a year now with my ideas for mass economic reform (hint: it involves printing more money), but I never hear back. Seriously, like 5-10 phone messages a day. And I leave great phone messages. Whatever.

In his letter, Stouffer talked about his family’s economic challenges, his worries, and the compromises he’s needed to make to get by. But he reassures Obama that Americans aren’t quitters and things will get better.
