The Spine Stealers are a two-gal duo making “spooky folk” influenced by the northwoods.

The Spine Stealers emerged from putting poems to guitar chords while learning to play during the pandemic. The songs, used as a way to alchemize songwriter Emma O’Shea’s own melancholy, saw other eyes at a late night open mic in July of 2022 and pushed the project to begin playing shows. In the past three years, the rough-edged, haunting folk songs have evolved with a consistent variation of instrumental arrangement, a devotion to touring and a steady stream of songwriting. The Spine Stealers have built a devoted regional following in the Midwest that continues to expand nationally as they tour constantly, record throughout the year and print teeshirts in garages.
