Bootleggers, Barons, & Bloodshed! A Campy Murder Mystery Trolley Tour
A trolley tour of 1920s Eau Claire turns into a murder mystery, part tour and part escape room, with each rider optionally playing a character in the plot.
Riders follow a scrappy aspiring detective through prohibition-era Eau Claire, where rubber moguls are rising and lumber barons are struggling, in pursuit of a killer with clues scattered across the city. The tour visits real, significant spaces from early 1900s Eau Claire. Attendees may wear 1920s attire or come as they are.
The show is for ages 13+ and requires parental guidance for themes and language. The tour lasts about 65 minutes and involves boarding and disembarking three times, including some minor stair climbs. Wear layers for changing indoor and outdoor environments. Theatrical effects including lighting, sound, and fog are part of the action. Much or all of the tour is after dark; red flashlights are provided for periods off the trolley.
