Ethan Folkes is a musician working in the tradition of American folk music. Influenced by artists like Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, and Hank Williams, his music draws from old time records, lesser known songs, and original writing grounded in the same traditions.

After spending years playing in punk bands in Seattle, he stepped away from music before returning with a stronger focus on folk music and storytelling. His songs reflect movement, work, and loss, shaped by time spent traveling and a growing connection to land and community. Since moving back to Eau Claire in 2025, he has become a regular presence at local open mics.
