18th Annual Ukrainian Christmas Dinner
VALENTYNA PAVSYUKOVA - Founder and CEO of CHALICE OF MERCY, will share the extraordinary relief efforts of her nonprofit, which has delivered over $80 million worth of emergency and medical supplies to Ukraine.
BISHOP VITALII KRIVIITZSKY - Ordinary of the Kyiv-Zhytomyr Diocese and Deputy Chairman of the Conference of Roman Catholic Bishops of Ukraine, will share about the current situation in Ukraine. CHRIS NEWHOUSE - Executive Director of Sustainability and MICHAEL STOEBNER - Video Storyteller at MATTER NGO, PETER CARLSON - Director at Terra Ingredients, will share about their mission trip to Ukraine in August of 2024 and the collaboration between MATTER and CHALICE OF MERCY.
We will be accompanied by live music from the Professional St. Constantine Ukrainian Catholic Church Choir of MN and Ukrainian jazz saxophonist MARK MYRONCHUK.
The Traditional Ukrainian Menu includes:
- KUTYA - wheat berries with dried prunes, cherries, apricots, raisins and honey
- HUTZUL BORSH - traditional Ukrainian soup
- PAMPUHY - garlic bread with dill
- HORSERADISH AND BEET SPREAD
- ANGUS BEEF - marinated in Ukrainian spices, red wine and plum jam
- ROASTED POTATOES AND PEARS WITH BRUSSEL SPROUTS
- GREEN SALAD with tomatoes, cucumbers,red onions, green peas, feta cheese with sunflower oil dressing
- CABBAGE ROLLS stuffed with rice, pork and carrots
- SAUSAGE marinated in sour cream and garlic
- SAUERKRAUT with crabapples, prunes in tomato sauce
- KOLACHI - "Christmas Bread" with raisins and honey
