The Blue Trunk debut novel by Ann E. Lowry
Eau Claire native Ann Lowry will discuss her novel, The Blue Trunk, and the ways in which failing to uncover the secrets of her long-lost great-great aunt led to healing through writing historical fiction. Though fictional, the book was inspired in part by the author’s real-life search for an ancestor whose story was taboo in family lore. She may have lived at the Eau Claire County Asylum and Poor Farm, but Lowry’s search was frustrated by a lack of official records and family stories. Registration Requested. A discussion of genealogy research and historical fiction.
