Kristo Orthodontics is one of the Chippewa Valley’s enduring homegrown success stories.
That story began in 1959 when Dr. Andrew Kristo founded the practice in Eau Claire. His son, Dr. Steve Kristo, made it a family practice when he joined in 1988 and continued building on their commitment to providing exceptional orthodontic care for patients throughout the Chippewa Valley.
Today, Dr. Kristo is mostly retired, and the next chapter of Kristo Orthodontics’ story is being written by Drs. Grace Lee and Camille Ewing. While leading the team, both Dr. Grace and Dr. Camille have no intentions of rewriting what is already a family legacy marked by a great reputation for top-notch patient care.
“We are incredibly grateful for the foundation Dr. Kristo and his father built,” Dr. Grace said. “We have the opportunity to continue that legacy while making it our own, continuing to provide the level of care our patients have come to expect from Kristo Orthodontics.”
For Dr. Grace, Kristo Orthodontics’ longstanding dedication to the Chippewa Valley is what drew her to the practice. She has developed her own relationships and genuine connections with patients and families throughout the community, and is passionate about creating an orthodontic experience centered around patients’ comfort and confidence.
Dr. Camille, an Eau Claire native, grew up familiar with Kristo Orthodontics’ work both inside the office and out in the community. Now, she’s part of that legacy.
“It means a lot to me to be able to practice orthodontics in my hometown and give back to the community that has given so much to me,” Dr. Camille said. “I love getting to know our patients and their families, and being part of their lives throughout their orthodontic journey.”

The doctors’ shared commitment to high-quality, personalized orthodontic care for kids, teenagers and adults, is further reflected in their connection to the wider community.
Kristo Orthodontics was honored as the #1 Best Orthodontic Office in Volume One’s Best of the Chippewa Valley Reader Poll in 2026 — something Dr. Grace said the team doesn’t take lightly, but as another example of their dedication to patients.
“Things like that keep motivating us to continue finding ways to make a positive impact,” Dr. Grace said. “We want the best for our patients, our families, and our community.”
The Kristo Orthodontics team has observed more and more interest in orthodontic treatment from adults in the area, especially as new technology and treatment options have become available. One of those options includes Invisalign® clear aligners, one form of treatment available for children, teens, and adults.
More than 40% of Kristo’s patients use Invisalign® — which the practice has offered for over 20 years — including about 90% of their adult patients.
Flexibility in appointment scheduling and creating a welcoming, all-ages environment have contributed to that significant growth in adult care. Plus, Invisalign® and clear braces are known for their more discreet look, translating to professional and family life.
“It’s exciting to help them achieve the smile they’ve always wanted,” Dr. Grace noted.

For kids, Kristo’s care goes beyond their teeth. The Confidence Counts Club — open to kids ages six and up — provides children with a free orthodontic evaluation upon enrollment, and aims to promote annual exams and help families understand the best time to begin orthodontic treatment as necessary.
The Club also hosts free, fun events across the Chippewa Valley, and collaborates with local organizations — from the Eau Claire Children’s Theatre to the Eau Claire Marathon, local YMCA, Boys & Girls Club, Valley Sports Academy and more — to support the community beyond the office.
The Kristo crew can also be found working with public and private schools in Eau Claire, Chippewa Falls and Rice Lake, sponsoring sports teams and providing in-class brushing clinics during National Children’s Dental Health Month (February).
As Kristo Orthodontics looks toward the future, the family practice remains rooted in the values that started it all, more than six decades ago: exceptional care, genuine relationships, and a commitment to the community.
“Our patients and our community are at the heart of everything we do,” Dr. Grace said, with Dr. Camille echoing that sentiment.
“We want every patient who walks through our door sot know that they are more than just a patient,” Dr. Camille said. “We are here to care for them, celebrate their milestones, and help them feel confident in their smile.”
