From calm lake town retreats to the hustle and bustle of downtown city streets, these familiar corners of Wisconsin were practically made with a road trip in mind.

That's exactly what the Milwaukee Brewers will be doing all summer long – as part of the recently launched "Wisco Pop-Up Series" – as the Crew plans to embark on a statewide roadie, which includes an Eau Claire stop from July 24-25.

The Wisco Pop-Up Series, announced last week on May 22, aims to extend the connection fans have to the Brewers beyond its home field in Milwaukee. Thus far, partnering cities include West Allis, Madison, Lake Geneva, Appleton and Eau Claire.

The road trip-inspired initiative will leave its mark on those cities via mural installations, the Brewers announced.

In Eau Claire, Menomonie-based artist Jenna Wood will create the mural. (Plans for Eau Claire's mural have yet to be shared; Wood's existing color-drenched murals can be seen throughout the Chippewa Valley.)

"Each pop-up is designed to meet fans in their communities, blending baseball, culture, music and streetwear," a recent media release stated. "Activations will include Brewers mascot appearances, live entertainment, giveaways and on-site retail experiences."

The Brewers' pop-up event in Eau Claire will coincide with the return of the Eaux Claires music festival, slated for July 24-25 at Carson Park (100 Carson Park Dr., Eau Claire).

Erin Klaus, the executive director of Downtown Eau Claire, Inc. (DECI), said the mural will be installed alongside The Pickle (341 Water St., Eau Claire) in an effort to maximize visibility for visitors and locals who choose to stop by.

The Pickle's owner, Jed Hart, has plans to remove parking from in front of the mural and create a designated area for visitors to hang out, snap a photo or two and more, Klaus added.

"(It) is kind of one of those (murals that) says 'Eau Claire, Wisconsin' ... That will (be a) place to go take a selfie and say 'you have been here,' " Klaus shared with Volume One. "We were able to secure its location (on) Water Street, which was (a) huge goal for us ... That (mural) is actually bringing more public art to Water Street."

DECI is also organizing a new companion event to the Eaux Claires festival, called the Saturday Street Faire.

The Saturday Street Faire will close down the Water Street business district from 9am-4pm and has been positioned to offer even more artist and local activations in line with the music festival, Klaus said. The inaugural event will spotlight Water Street businesses, other DECI members, local artisans, interactive installations and more.

"Any of the visitors coming in early will have something to participate in leading up to the (festival)," Klaus said. "This is the start of something new for Water Street ... a signature event that helps them really identify their district."

"Of course there is (the) economic impact that comes with that," she continued.

This is a developing story with more updates to come from Volume One. The Wisco Pop-Up Series – organized by the Milwaukee Brewers – will continue through the summer months and arrive to Eau Claire on July 24-25.
