SANDWICHES. If anyone knows me they know I’m a sandwich man. Salty cured meat mixed with the bright crunch of veggie and some type of vinegar seasoning on a fresh roll – I don’t think it gets better than that! When you get that tax return, I recommend heading over to the “sandwich district of Eau Claire”: a stretch on Brackett Ave into Harding Ave.. You’ve got Mancino’s, Jay Rays and Eau Claire Cheese & Deli; with that influx of cash, you can indulge in all three.

SKATEBOARDS. While I may have have grown past the point of this hobby, (after having been diagnosed as having “sloppy knees” by my doctor) as a child of the 90s skateboarding is something I always wished I could do. Add to that, we’ve got a beautiful new skatepark at Boyd Park! When you stop by El Camino Skate Shop on Water Street – and see the skaters showing off tricks and new gear – that whole scene just bleeds Eau Claire. Be a part of that body.

STREET PARKING. We have to face the facts: on June 1, all downtown street parking will be paid parking. All sorts of people have all sorts of opinions on this, but we must accept that the city spent $400,000 dollars on a parking study and unfortunately deemed that we need the revenue. So, hide away a bit of that cash for those times you want to park nice and close and do some shopping, treat yourself to a great meal, or rock out at a local show.
