Haylee Schreiber is a UWEC senior earning a BFA in Integrative Visual Arts.
“Where We Gather” (2025) • 11" x 13" • Digital painting • About the artwork, from the artist: "Where We Gather draws inspiration from my Nana’s craft room and her cat, Midnight. I aimed to capture the comfort and connection found in a shared, familiar space through the depiction of family pets and a vibrant interior. My work often themes around small moments, identity, and community through saturated colors and a variety of mediums. For this piece, I used digital media tools that helped me create soft controlled light, texture, and atmosphere. Using blended brushes allowed me to recreate the gentle warmth of the room and the way sunlight settled across the fabric, walls, and fur. This approach emphasizes creating an inviting and nostalgic environment that reflects the warmth of the spaces where we feel most at home.”
