Kamp Kenwood Announces $15K Fundraiser Ahead of 75th Anniversary
longtime youth camp and venue near Lake Wissota calls on community, fundraises for needed structural improvements
It’s easy to celebrate the memory-making spaces at summer camp prior to each new season, but this fall, the Chippewa Valley’s Kamp Kenwood is seeking that same energy ahead of a milestone moment: its 75th anniversary.
As this year draws to a close and preparations for the Wisconsin Farmers Union (WFU) Convention Fundraiser event on Dec. 1 are underway, WFU is inviting folks to support the continued experiences and services at Kamp Kenwood through donations. The camp, founded and operated by the WFU, now approaches its 75th anniversary in 2026.
Kamp Kenwood, which has been offering cooperative- and agriculture-centered experiences for youth summer campers since around the 1930s, sits on 20-plus acres in Chippewa County. There, rustic cabins and its historic lodge are surrounded by an abundance of natural beauty, with Lake Wissota State Park to its north and Lake Wissota to its south.
"Your support is vital in securing the legacy of Wisconsin Farmers Union camps for future generations. Together, we can make a significant impact on our community."

ON KAMP KENWOOD'S 2025 FUNDRAISER
As shared in a recent media release, the camp is in need of structural improvements – and hopes to fundraise $15,000 to replace siding, windows, and remedy moisture-related damages.
“Our resilient buildings have withstood the passage of time,” the media release and fundraiser flyer stated. “In 2026, we will prioritize essential maintenance for select buildings on our property, safeguarding their integrity for years to come.”
As a 501(c)(3) organization, donations to Kamp Kenwood are tax deductible. WFU also seeks live and silent auction items to help meet Kamp Kenwood’s $15,000 fundraiser goal, including gift certifications, handcrafted items, experiences, and more.
Notably, Kamp Kenwood is utilized year-round; the location is also host to environmental education courses, family reunions, business meetings, weddings, dinners, and more.
Lodging includes “The Cabin,” a year-round space equipped for up to 12 guests, and bunkhouses, which can accommodate a total of 80 people (20 people/bunkhouse). The site’s amenities include on-site showers and restrooms, a fully-equipped kitchen, fire rings, a basketball and sand volleyball court, and more.
Jackie Boos, WFU Facilities Director, encourages folks to pledge their donations by Nov. 1 this fall or reach out to arrange a donation pick-up with the WFU team. All donations to Kamp Kenwood's 2025 fundraiser – ahead of its 75th anniversary in 2026 – should be made by Dec. 1 this year.
