“Raspberry Landscape” (2018) • 8" x 10" • Watercolor and textiles by Cari Raynae • About the artwork, from the artist: "Raspberry Landscape is a peaceful scene of calm water, a sky holding back the approaching rain, and layers of colorful earth—rejoicing in the drizzle. It started with inspiration from the raspberry colored trim. After pulling antique crocheted items and tea-dyed muslin from her textile stash the piece was completed. Collage is a favorite medium for Cari Raynae, as she loves to combine paint, ink, papers, and textiles into a single piece of art. For smaller, quicker projects she creates and sells greeting cards at the Local Store and several other Art/gift stores. She uses the small canvas of a card to create complete artworks using stamps and inks, paint roll-off papers, ribbon, and found objects. She does her part to recycle also, as she makes many of her envelopes from colorful magazines pages."
